History and sights ...

 

... there are numerous places to see on Korčula. Explore the streets in the old town of Korčula and find out why the city plan resembles a fish-griffon pattern or visit the 9 medieval churches within the famous city walls. It is said that Marko Polo, the famous traveler and explorer, was also born here. Many scenes of his life have been revived in the museum. The romantic sword dance "Moreška", which today is only performed in Korčula, is definitely worth seeing, just to name a few of the attractions.

Korčula is proud of its traditions, which are still alive today. You can sense it in every small village on the island. Let yourself be inspired and discover the beauties of this island.

Bays and beaches ...

 

The coast of the Island of Korčula is very indented, with numerous bays and coves. Korčula has some of the most beautiful beaches in Croatia. No matter which side of the island you visit, you will always find your place under the sun.

 

Just 50 meters from our house, there is a pebble beach surrounded by the crystal-clear sea.

 

If you want to enjoy the sand and sun, you can go to nearby Lumbarda, which is surrounded by wide sandy beaches.

If you choose to explore the island, you will often encounter hidden beaches surrounded by fairy-tale natural surroundings.

Gastronomy and wine tasting ...

Korčula and the surrounding towns offer a real gastronomic pleasure. In addition to the homemade food, we suggest a glass of locally cultivated wine "Pošip" or "Grk".

Desserts are a real pleasure, prepared today as in the days of old. Your palate will be grateful after tasting "Hrštula", "Cukarina" and "Klašuna".

The variety of dishes traditionally prepared, local virgin olive oil and top-quality wines are part of the rich cuisine on the Island of Korčula.

Much of this can be tasted at the many fisherman's evenings during the tourist season, and we certainly recommend you visit the wineries in Čara and Smokvica ...

Apart from experiencing a relaxing holiday, the island also offers great opportunities for enjoying sports activities.

 

The sea channel of "Pelješac" offers perfect conditions for windsurfers or kiters and is one of the best spots in Europe.

 

Here you will find diving center which will assist you exploring the depths of the Adriatic Sea.

 

For those who like to stay on land, there are numerous cycling and hiking trails across this beautiful Mediterranean landscape.

Various excursions are organized from the island of Korčula.

 

A visit to the neighboring islands of Mljet, Lastovo and Vis can also be organized. Closer islands in the archipelago of Korčula, such as "Proizd" and "Badija", are an ideal choice for a one-day swim or snorkeling trip.

For one-day trips, we also recommend visiting Split and Dubrovnik, which are well connected to Korčula with speedboats.
